An exploration of the experience of crossing thresholds from one country circumstance or experience into another

Projected themes:
the situation of refugees
the experience of the elderly moving into aged care
people in transition stages of health

The Threshold Machine is a sound sculpture interactive that can be placed in various public places [museums, performance spaces, shopping malls] that can both broadcast archives and record participant stories on threshold experiences. The material is transformed by the machine and becomes part of the interactive ‘after’ experience, transformed into a sound and/or visual landscape.

The Machine can also function as a live-feed performance interactive. Currently in development with the theatre project Anthems and Angels.
