LOST OBJECTS– work in progress
Lost Objects is an epic oratorio by the New York-based collective Bang on a Can. Its scope is both vast and intimate, encompassing personal and supra-personal themes of exile and loss (of memory, species, language and country), but also speaks to our potentials for recovery, resilience, agency, dignity and joy.
This powerful work has not yet been performed in Australia, and never yet with dancers, anywhere in the world.
People of different ages and abilities are coming to the project, from the most professionally-advanced of dancers, filmmakers and musicians to emerging artists. It is a co-creative space where differing capabilities are celebrated, and potentials encouraged.
Our ambition is to achieve full production during the Canberra International Music Festival (5-9 May, 2027), and a documentary film
